A 2-year-old patient at Kool Smiles Dentist in Yuma, Ariz., passed away while undergoing a crown and filling procedure, according to the Inquirer.
Here’s what you need to know.
1. The pediatric patient was under anesthesia while undergoing his dental procedure. While the dentist was performing the procedure, the dentist noticed the patient stopped breathing.
2. Kool Smiles Dentists notified the Yuma Regional Medical Center, where the patient was rushed to.
3. Kool Smiles Dentists declined to comment on the incident; however, the dental practice put out a statement stating they were mourning the patient and the family. The dental practice is communicating with the Yuma Fire and Police Department to provide a medical response relating to the incident.
4. The patient’s death still remains undetermined.
