Retired dentist Joel Hittleman, DDS, 89, Williamsville, N.Y., passed away Dec. 16 after a brief illness, The Buffalo News reports.
Dr. Hittleman spent 40 years practicing after with a stint in the NBA before passing away at Buffalo (N.Y) General Hospital. Throughout his career, Dr. Hittleman worked as the director of dentistry at the West Seneca (N.Y.) Development Center and as a professor at the University of Buffalo (N.Y.) School of Dentistry.
Before enrolling at Philadelphia-based Temple University School of Dentistry, Dr. Hittleman was drafted into the NBA by the Fort Wayne Pistons, now known as the Detroit Pistons. After earning his doctor of dental surgery degree, Dr. Hittleman became the Buffalo Braves team dentist until the team left Buffalo in 1978.
Dr. Hittleman practiced for more than 40 years and will be remembered for his passion for treating kids with server development issues.
