Former dentist R. Chester Redhead, DDS, passed away, according to the New York Amsterdam News.
Dr. Redhead practiced from 1953 to 2012 and established himself in the Harlem community of New York. He served as president of the New York Society of Forensic Dentists and spent time heading up the Howard University Alumni Association.
The CEO of Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce Lloyd Williams remembered Dr. Redhead for his advocacy of civil rights and efforts to grow and develop the Harlem neighborhood. Dr. Redhead spent time on the chamber's board of directors and co-chaired its health committee.
