In-network dentist availability satisfaction dropped 1.29 points from 2016, according to a J.D. Power survey.
Here are three key statistics:
1. Overall dental plan customer satisfaction declined to 770, on a 1,000 point scale, from 781 in 2016.
2. The decline in satisfaction was due to challenges with cost, dropping from 767 in 2016 to 755 in 2017, as well as coverage, slipping to 787 in 2017 from 802 last year.
3. While overall satisfaction was down, the number of times members contacted dental plans insurers to resolve a problem improved. And more than 90 percent of plan members said they would renew their contracts.
