Alpharetta, Ga.-based OrthoMinds, a provider of orthodontic practice management software, provided notice of a recent data security event.

In November 2024, the company learned of a potential security incident within its network environment. An investigation determined that between Nov. 17 and Nov. 27, files and folders stored on certain databases may have been accessible to individuals outside the organization, according to a March 20 news release.

Information involved may have included names, dates of birth, medical information, health insurance information, payment card information and Social Security numbers.

At this point, OrthoMinds does not have any evidence that the compromised information was subject to actual or attempted misuse.

OrthoMinds reviewed and improved its existing policies and implemented additional security measures to prevent similar instances in the future, the release said.
