3D orthodontics company secures $50M investment

LightForce Orthodontics, a developer of 3D printed dental brackets, received a commitment of $50 million from Trinity Capital.

LightForce is the first company to create a fully personalized 3D printed braces system, improving efficiency for patients, according to a Sept. 4 news release. 

The system utilizes AI to generate digital representations of individual patient's anatomy and optimal teeth positions. 

LightForce was founded in 2015 by Alfred Griffin, DMD, PhD, and Lou Shuman, DMD.

Trinity Capital is a provider of diversified financial solutions to growth-stage companies with institutional equity investors, the release said.
