Cosmo Haralambidis, DMD, received the 2023 Ortho Innovator Award for the Dental Pain Eraser, a portable electronic dental anesthesia device.
The Dental Pain Eraser sends subsensory electric pulses, calming nerves in the mouth and providing pain relief, according to a March 14 news release.
The device allows patients to prevent and relieve mouth pains from dental treatment and oral disorders in both the dental office and at home. It is drug-free, needle-free and numb-free, providing relief in 30 seconds.
The award was given by the American Association of Orthodontists Committee on Technology.
Dr. Haralambidis is also a practicing orthodontist at Cranston Orthodontics in Rhode Island.
The Dental Pain Eraser has earned clearance from the FDA for use in both children and adults, the release said.
