Carbon, a 3D dental printing company, has created a new production workflow for clear aligners.
The Gen 2 aligner model solution has the ability to decrease material consumption by 40 percent and increase throughput by 65 percent, according to a March 14 news release.
The workflow utilizes the Carbon L1 printer, a solventless cleaning solution, software and the new UMA 20 printing resin.
The solution decreases the cost per part by using a hollowing software and using less resin in each part. It also increases sustainability by eliminating solvent waste and allowing resin to be reclaimed and reused.
The system will become available to customers in the second half of 2023, the release said.
