Louisiana lawmakers have prefiled a bill that would repeal the Louisiana Department of Health’s water fluoridation program, Beauregard News reported Feb. 21.
Public water systems with at least 5,000 connections in the state are required by law to add fluoride, but Senate Bill 2 would remove that requirement.
The bill was prefiled Feb. 18 and referred to the Senate Health & Welfare Committee.
Louisiana's 2025 regular legislative session begins April 14.
