The CareQuest Institute for Oral Health began funding a nationwide initiative to integrate oral health into primary healthcare.
The 100 Million Mouths Campaign by the Center for Integration of Primary Care and Oral Health will recruit and train health professionals in each state over the next decade to work with primary care training sites to develop oral health curricula. The campaign was launched in 2021 and originally funded by the Health Resources and Service Administration, according to a Nov. 30 news release.
The project is co-led by Dr. Shenam Ticku, instructor in oral health policy and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, and Hugh Silk, MD, professor in the department of family medicine and community health at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in Worcester.
