The CareQuest Institute for Oral Health has created implementation guides for the exchange of primary and oral healthcare information, the company said Sept. 16.

The guides provide best practices for the electronic exchange of patient data between dental and medical professionals. The guides are meant to reduce patient risk, increase the relevance and accuracy of information and reduce duplicated referrals and referral processing times.

CareQuest said it collaborated with representatives from the U.S. Defense Department, American Dental Association and other industry stakeholders to create the guides and is seeking clinical partners to test their effectiveness and create processes for data exchanges.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
