Demand for orthodontic and cosmetic treatments at dental offices has risen since before the pandemic, according to poll findings from the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute.
For the week of May 17, 1,712 dentists responded to the question, "Compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic, how has the prevalence of each of the following changed among patients in your dental practice?"

10.1 percent of respondents said this treatment prevalence has increased
35.7 percent of respondents said this treatment prevalence has stayed the same
8.3 percent of respondents said this treatment prevalence has decreased
45.9 percent of respondents said they weren't sure/wasn't applicable
Whitening treatments in the office
9.3 percent of respondents said this treatment prevalence has increased
46.6 percent of respondents said this treatment prevalence has stayed the same
21.3 percent of respondents said this treatment prevalence has decreased

Whitening using over-the-counter products
9.7 percent of respondents said this treatment prevalence has increased
