The average full-time income for dental practice managers saw a 6.5% decrease between 2023 and 2024, according to Dentalpost's 2025 Dental Salary Survey Report.
Dentalpost surveyed 271 dental practice managers to create this year's report. The survey was conducted from October to November 2024.
Here are seven notes on dental practice manager pay from the report:
1. The average full-time income for practice managers was $71,292.42 in 2024, compared to $76,279.00 in 2023.
2. Approximately 263 full-time practice managers reported total 2024 income from their dental practice ranging from $24,000 to $245,000.
3. About 23% of practice managers reported annual compensation of $75,000 or more in 2024, compared to 40% who reported earning this amount in 2023.
4. The mean hourly wage for practice managers increased by 4.7%, hitting $36.03 in 2024.
5. Approximately 271 practice managers reported an hourly wage between $18 and $120 in 2024.
6. About 8% of practice managers reported earning $50 or more per hour in 2024, compared to 42% earning this amount in 2023.
7. Overall satisfaction with compensation has continuously declined since 2022. About 42% of practice managers said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their total compensation package in 2024, down from 49.3% in 2023 and 58% in 2022.
