Dentists' practice hours reached new high in 2023

Private practice dentists spent an average of more than 1,750 hours in dental practices in 2023 the highest average since 2000, according to data from the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute.

Dentists averaged 1,753.6 hours in the dental office for the primary private practice of dentists in 2023, according to ADA's 2024 "Survey of Dental Practice," which surveyed 60,975 private practice dentists in the U.S.
