West Coast vs. East Coast: Which region pays dentists more?

Dentists can earn an average of $216,280 in Washington, the highest-paying state for dentists on the West Coast, compared to $234,670 in Maryland, the highest-paying state on the East Coast.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics updated salary data for dental jobs to reflect 2023 information on April 3. 

Here is the average annual salary for dentists in states on the West Coast and East Coast:
