The United States has the most expensive dental care compared to other G7 countries, according to a March 19 ranking from healthnews.com.
To create the ranking, Healthnews collected data on the costs of essential dental treatments across the seven major industrial countries, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the U.S. The ranking is based on costs for cleanings, crowns, root canals and tooth extractions.
Here is how the U.S. ranks among the seven countries, along with the average cost across all four dental services:
United States: $518
Canada: $414
United Kingdom: $331
France: $246
Japan: $245
Germany: $210
Italy: $173
