Rankings of the best states for dental health is from personal finance website WalletHub, which utilized 25 key metrics.

Data on the number of total dentists in each state is from the American Dental Association, which updated its figures in January.

3. Idaho: 1,058 total dentists
4. Minnesota: 3,352 total dentists
5. Michigan: 5,776 total dentists

8. North Dakota: 396 total dentists
9. Massachusetts: 5,617 total dentists
