More than 40 percent of adults in Mississippi, the worst state for dental health, have visited the dentist in the past year.
Data on the percentage of adults that have not seen a dentist in the last year was collected as part of personal finance site WalletHub's "2023's Best & Worst States for Health Care" ranking, which was published July 31.
The rankings for the worst states for dental health were published by WalletHub on Feb. 1.
Here is the percentage of adults that have not visited the dentist in the past year in the bottom 10 states for dental health:
51. Mississippi: 41.7 percent
50. Arkansas: 42.9 percent
49. West Virginia: 41.8 percent
48. Montana: 36.2 percent
47. Texas: 42.6 percent
46. Louisiana: 40.7 percent
45. Alaska: 37.6 percent
44. Alabama: 38.6 percent
43. California: 35.7 percent
42. Florida: 39.5 percent
