The average number of hours dental professionals spent in offices hit its lowest point in three decades in 2020, according to new data from the American Dental Association.
The data, published in December, reports the average time spent in dental offices by employment type each year from 1990 until 2020.
General practitioners spent an average of 1,435 hours in the office in 2020. Specialists spent an average of 1,498 hours and the average number of hours for all dentists was 1,448. For comparison, all dentists spent an average of 1, 715 hours in the office in 2019.
