West Virginia is the state with the most vulnerable population to COVID-19, according to a new ranking from WalletHub.
To compare COVID-19 susceptibility across the 50 states and District of Columbia, WalletHub looked at 28 key metrics. The study focused not only on those who are 65 plus or have preexisting medical conditions, but also populations that lack adequate living conditions or the money to withstand the pandemic.
5 states with the most vulnerable populations:
- West Virginia
- Louisiana
- Mississippi
- Arkansas
- Alabama
5 states with the least vulnerable populations:
- Utah
- Colorado
- Minnesota
- Massachusetts
- Vermont
