South Dakota has the least severe COVID-19 restrictions of all U.S. states, according to a new ranking from WalletHub.
To compare the severity of COVID-19 restrictions across the 50 states and the District of Columbia, WalletHub looked at nine key metrics, including face mask requirements in public, travel restrictions and statewide school reopenings.
The five states with the least severe COVID-19 restrictions are geographically situated near the middle of the country, with South Dakotans presently experiencing the least amount of COVID-19 limitations. States with the most regulations are mainly located on coasts or have dense populations.
