- Overjet partnered with several dental companies to expand use of its artificial intelligence technology, including Platinum Dental Services, ProHEALTH Dental, Dental Whale, Coast Dental and Carestream Dental.
- Henry Schein One, a joint venture of Henry Schein and Internet Brands, teamed up with dental artificial intelligence platform VideaHealth to launch an AI-enabled X-ray analysis tool.
- SmileDirectClub launched an artificial intelligence-guided platform that shows patients projected treatment outcomes.
- Virtual Dental Care teamed up with Cigna to improve customer access to on-demand teledentistry services.
- Southborough, Mass.-based New England Dental Group chose VideaHealth to provide its practices with chair-side Al technology.
- A "Dental Patient Trust & Technology Survey" conducted by Pearl in June showed 71 percent of patients were more likely to trust dentists using AI.
- Invisalign manufacturer Align Technology introduced an artificial intelligence-guided virtual care feature to streamline practice workflow.
- Waltham, Mass.-based DSO 42 North Dental added VideaHealth's AI technology at its practices.
- In July, the Medicaid-Medicare-CHIP Services Dental Association and Overjet teamed up to create the first national Medicaid artificial intelligence dental program initiative.
- Orthodontics technology company Brius Technologies launched an AI-guided tooth straightening solution.
- Guardian Dental began offering virtual dental visits for emergency services through a partnership with teledentistry.com.
- In May, Overjet received FDA 510(k) clearance for its artificial intelligence-powered cavity detection and outlining software, Caries Assist.
- The state of Maine recently launched a virtual dental service program to increase access to dental care for children.
- The TeleDentists launched the first integrated dental-medical platform in May.
- MouthWatch integrated its teledentistry platform, TeleDent, with Henry Schein's Dentrix G6 and G7 practice management software.
- Pearl received FDA clearance in March for its Second Opinion software, the first in the world to read dental X-rays to identify oral health conditions.
- Overjet was granted a patent in February for software that uses artificial intelligence to measure distance and quantify disease in dental X-rays.
- Penn Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia added a teledentistry assessment platform and a series of educational videos to its teledentistry platform for patients with disabilities.
- Global financial services organization Sun Life partnered with teledentistry.com to provide its members with virtual access to dental providers.
- Dentulu partnered with television consumer engagement company Independa to offer teledentistry services to patients through their TVs.
