Align Technology reported $973.2 million in revenue and reached several clinical milestones during the first quarter of 2022, the medical device company said April 27.
Six notes:
1. Align brought in $973.2 million in first quarter revenue, compared to $894.8 million during the first quarter of 2021.
2. Align made $809.7 million in clear aligner revenue, compared to $753.3 million during the first quarter of 2021.
3. The company brought in $163.5 million in revenue from its imaging systems and CAD/CAM services, compared to $141.5 million during the first quarter of 2021.
4. The company reached 598,800 Invisalign cases, compared to 595,800 cases during the first quarter of 2021. About 29 percent of those cases were teenage patients.
5. April 3 marked Align Technology's 25th anniversary, having trained 217,000 doctors in its Invisalign treatment and treated 12.8 million Invisalign patients. It also manufactured 73,000 iTero scanners and gave out 49,000 exocad software licenses.
6. During the second quarter of 2022, the company plans to repurchase up to $200 million of its common stock.
