Denti.Ai, an AI company analyzing dental x-rays, was used to push award-winning research, according to a Dec. 17 news release.
The American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology awarded the 2020 Albert G. Richards Graduate Student Research to Manal Hamdan, DDS, the release said.
Hamdan, a student at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry conducted the study, "Detecting Apical Radiolucencies Using Deep Learning Technology: A Pilot Study," the release said. The research found Dent.Ai had comparable or better results as dental experts when examining x-rays.
